Webinar on the US presidential election in a time of Corona: Race, Identity, and the Future of American Democracy
In the midst of a global pandemic, the United States is on the brink of another presidential election that will decide the future of democracy for many years to come.
From Black Lives Matter to California wildfires and far right-wing protests, the election this year is particularly interesting as it emphasizes deep-rooted tensions regarding race, identity, social inequality, and political unrest.
To discuss these issues, this seminar brings together three prominent commentators and political theorists:
- Cristina Beltrán (New York University)
- Elisabeth Anker (George Washington University)
- Lester Spence (Johns Hopkins University)
The seminar is moderated by Lars Tønder (University of Copenhagen).
Each panelist will give a 10-minute presentation, after which the audience will be invited to submit questions for discussion.
Please note the registration deadline on Sunday 18 October at 23.59.
